Professional Writing Alumni Speaking Event (Nov. 2, 2:00pm, EB 266)

Are you interested in learning about writing careers available to graduates of UNCW's professional writing program and MA in English? On Friday, Nov. 2, from 2:00–3:00pm in EB 266, three recent graduates will speak about their job searches and current positions as technical writers at nCino, which is headquartered here in Wilmington, NC.

Speakers include James Dempsey, Caroline DeVries, and Moriah Yancey. Questions and answers about their professional experiences will follow. Please join us!

Altered University Deadlines

The university wants students to be aware of the following information:

Withdrawal deadline has been extended to October 22, 2018.
Full or single course withdrawals for extenuating circumstances may be available for those students who have been impacted by the storm. Students should contact their advisor or responsible associate dean for guidance.
Withdrawal credit schedule has been adjusted to reflect the changes to the academic calendar
Graduation registration has been pushed back to October 23.

Welcome to ENG 204-002: Introduction to Professional Writing

Welcome to ENG 204-002: Introduction to Professional Writing with Dr. Jeremy Tirrell. This is a hybrid course, which means that ordinarily we will have one period in our classroom (on Tuesday from 3:30 pm–4:45 pm in MO 204) and one period online (on Thursday). Hybrid courses require more online interaction and self-governance than standard sections.

The course flows through this website, so it is crucial that you thoroughly familiarize yourself with it. Because much of your work will be independent, you should pay particular attention to the Calendar page, as it articulates the schedule of activities and provides links to corresponding materials. Additionally, the Home page collects updates and news that you should know, the Syllabus page describes course policies, and the Assignments page contains information about course projects and ancillary work.
